Sweet Cherry Pie is an indica-dominant strain that resulted from breeding two heavy duty U.S. varieties known for their connoisseur status – Cherry Pie (Grand Daddy Purple x Durban Poison) x Gelato (Sunset Sherbet x Thin Mint Cookies). 75% indica, some Sweet Cherry Pie plants can put on a colourful display of red and purple colours in the latter stages of flowering, this being due to the Grand Daddy Purple component of the original Cherry Pie strain.
These plants can be cultivated with great success indoors and outdoors. Indoor gardeners will be able to harvest between 400 – 550 gr/m2 after 8 – 9 weeks of florescence. Outdoors, in northern latitudes, Sweet Cherry Pie plants will be ready for harvesting at the end of September with each plant capable of yielding 350 – 600 gr. The dried buds are both compact and dense with high quantities of THC-laden resin.
As befits a strain named Sweet Cherry Pie, the scent and flavour is very sweet and fruity with notes of freshly-baked cookies just out of the oven, cherries, earthy forest fruits and with a dash of acidity. THC content is between 18 – 25% while CBD is rated at 0.5%. The effect, while very potent, is well-balanced between physical relaxation and mental stimulation, even being useful for the creatives among you.
